I've made a lot of progress tonight with the blog here! What you are looking at is the new default layout! Why is that so great? Well, now my blog can support themes or layouts! I'm still working on the default layout (header image it has is just me having fun, bonus points if you know the character) but as you can see I've gotten a lot done!
I can't wait to get this version done and released. Since I've gotten so much done I figure I might as well put 0.4 (paragon) up for download once I'm done. I was planning on keeping this blog to myself until at least version 0.5, but I think I've pushed a lot of stuff into the next version (such as an install.php file) that would be a waste if I didn't release it!
I don't know how much longer it will be before I'm done with this version, but I'm hoping to have it done before I head back to school!
Hmm, now I'm wondering how easy will this be to upgrade? I didn't do too much DB work, and passwords haven't been touched (main reason for the fresh start last time)...
eh, we'll see. Not that much would be lost otherwise I guess...
I'm also wondering how important it is to have an option that allows for guest commenting. Currently I have that planned to include in 0.5 but if people really want it I could push it into the next version. I'll update that last post with the wishlist.
Here it is.
I also updated the
post about that tf2 map I was working on. I added a few more screens, so check that out!
Update (7/29): I just updated the blog to allow HTML to be posted in post bodies (not sure why I was stripping tags to begin with, admins won't abuse anything right?). This new way of doing it will now do nl2br when pages are created, the br's won't be stored in the DB anymore. What this mean for old posts is that they will have dual br's! All old posts will be double spaced out. I could probably make something that will search the old posts and take them out (shit I could just keep the strip_tags in the post edit, and just edit every post) but fuck that. I don't think it's a huge deal so I'm going to just let it go.
Update (8/6): Still on vacation but managed to get a bit more done. Added a nice way to allow users to stay logged in (cookies ftw). Still want to get a few more things done before I can call this version done but hey still getting shit done!
